We were talking in lunchbreak today about how Mum and I helped decorate Sylva’s cottage. Tod really wanted to know lots, he says there’s loads of decorating they need to do at his house and he wants to help his mum.

He’s going to try and do his room ‘cos his dad is often out trying to find work and when he does have work days they’re really long and he’s too tired to do anything when he comes home.

Talked about filling in holes and I said how for little ones you just push in the filling stuff in with your finger and how you use the big flat knife thing to do big ones. Then you let it dry and sandpaper it so it’s smooth.

Fred was just clearing up near Big Tree and heard us and said he’d show Tod how ‘cos there’s a window that needs fixing in Mrs Rudman’s study, so they went to do that!
