DOT'S DIARIES 2010

Wednesday 25th August

Dad's friend who told us about the 'Auberge des Pompiers' where we stayed on our way to the Dordogne came round tonight 'cos he wanted to know what we had to eat!!

He is a TOTAL foodie, his name's Rudy and he works in Doggydos' transport department. He spends all his holidays finding places where he can eat nice things but he's INCREDIBLY thin and he has this shaven head and he's from Belgium. Dad says he's mega- efficient.

Spent a long time looking at all the menus we brought back for him and was saying stuff like “Mmm, the lamb, good choice... that regional jus (that means gravy) with the shallots and fresh thyme (which is a herb) is excellent...” and “I think the snails aren't worth the price at that time of the year...” (ugh, Mum had some, said all she could taste was the garlic butter!!)

I just had steak and frites (chips) which was GREAT!!
