DOT'S DIARIES 2010

Monday 23rd August

Was telling about Clisson, the little town where we stopped on our way to our gite. We stayed at the ‘Auberge des Pompiers’, which means ‘The Fireman’s Hotel’.

It’s called that ‘cos the man who runs it used to be a fireman but then he decided he liked cooking better and started his own restaurant. Had some rooms so he made it a hotel too.

I had a really cool room with a HUGE bed and a creaky old wardrobe that smelt nice!

Dad heard about it from a friend at work, it’s not on the net or anything. When we arrived we had this BIGBIG hello from Monsieur Herbrand (you say ‘Airbron’ in French.) He had a huge tummy and a very clean white apron and a big moustache that Dad said used to be called a “soup strainer” ‘cos it was all floppy! He knew we were coming from Dad’s friend who’s a big foodie. Anyway, we… grrr bedtime!
