Fred was trying to fix the gate that got hit by the van ALL DAY today... he took it off its hinges, he had to get Mr Manjula to help, and Ms Wilcox (who's really strong 'cos she's so sporty, Ricky calls her 'Sporty Teach'. But not when she can hear...!)

The poor gate looked kind of sad, all Fred's lovely shiny paint was chipped. Lots of the metal bits it's made of were twisted too and he had this big hammer and was hitting it to make them straight. You could hear it all over school, kind of clink clink noise.

Genie and Slam and Pearl and I were watching him in break, he was getting very hot and red in the face. Put our hands over our ears it was so loud. When Fred saw us he grinned and said “What do you think of the show so far then?”

Think he actually likes a really hard job!
