DOT'S DIARIES 2010

Saturday 20th March

Told Dad all about ‘History of Flight’ thing it we’re doing today and he said “Why don’t we make a model? I used to do that a lot!” He went up to the loft and got out his old photo album with him with these model aeroplanes he used to hang from he ceiling of his bedroom, on very thin pieces of thread as if they were flying.

He had a Spitfire and a Lancaster bomber and even a hovercraft. Said I thought it looked a bit high up for a hovercraft and he said “Very clever Dot!”

Anyway we looked for models on the net. There was one for a Sopwith Camel but because of the two wings and these “struts”, bits of wood holding the wings apart, it looked too difficult for my first time and Dad hasn’t done any for ages. So we’re going to make a Vickers Viscount which was an airliner with propellers in the 1950’s.
