Was talking to Dad tonight about the British Airways strike 'cos it was in the news it's going to stop all these kids in a wind band (that's a band that plays instruments you blow through to make music) going on a special trip to America. They've been saving up for EIGHTEEN MONTHS to go, too!

Said it's mean to mess that up with a strike, But Dad said “Hang on a minute - people don't strike for no reason. The staff at B.A, are striking because they say the company made them some promises and now they won't keep them.”

Confused! Why why why? Dad said “Well B.A, say they need to save money because they're worried their company is losing lots, and they need to pay less for their staff or they'll be in trouble. And your wind band is caught in the middle!”

Oh. Glad I don't have to decide who's right or what to do!
