Rev Nigel came to talk to us in RE today. Wild! He said “Going to shock you today. Is believing in God a bad thing?” Pearl put her hand up and said “NO! Believing in Jesus helps people to be kind and thoughtful. He said “Love thy neighbour as thyself”.

Rabina put her hand up and said “Yes! There were those crusades when the Christian armies went to attack Muslims, and there was lots of fighting!” Then Rev Nigel went round and asked everyone good things Christians had done. Things like charities and paintings and music.

BUT he also talked about people using the Christian religion to be cruel to Jews or unkind to people who don’t believe the same as them. And there were big wars between different kinds of Christians… like in Northern Ireland Christian people used religion like that, even though Jesus said they shouldn’t. But at the end Rev Nigel said something really interesting. He… grrr bedtime!!
