We're going to do stuff about flying in History... Ricky's really pleased 'cos he loves aeroplanes, he even spends whole days at airports sometimes just plane-spotting! His dad's the same, they once nearly got into trouble when they were on holiday 'cos they went plane-spotting near an airport where there were fighter planes and policemen came in a car 'cos they thought they were spying!

Luckily though Ricky was wearing his Manchester United T-shirt and the policeman in charge was a fan too so they started talking about Wayne Rooney and they let them go, even gave them a lift back to their hotel.

Anyway for a start Mrs Redman told us about the Wright brothers who were Americans and did the first flight with an engine. They had something called a "biplane" – which means it has two wings, one on top of the other (with some air in between, I mean!) Got to draw it for homework. Looks VERY draughty!!!
