DOT'S DIARIES 2010

Sunday 7th February

Mum's still ill... her nose is all red and her eyes are tiny... she's used up FOUR boxes of Kleenex. Dad's still having to MAKE her stay in bed, she kept worriting on about Sunday lunch and the ironing etc.

We did the ironing OK, Dad's good at that, he did his shirts. I did stuff like pillow cases and hankies that were nice and flat to iron. Dad had to put the ironing board down lower for me though!

We had to ask Mum about Sunday lunch, how long to cook the joint (organic beef, yum) and what “parboiling” potatoes means (just boiling them a bit before they go in to roast.) After “parboiling” Dad shook them up with salt so they were crumbly on the outside, to make crunchy bits. I peeled some carrots while Dad cut up the veg, curly kale, really small.

Hope it'll be all right... we're serving in a minute. Smells OK anyway!!
