Saturday 2nd January

FREEZY cold! Mum went out this morning on her Go Cycle, her wizzy electric-powered bike, to do the shopping – she’s got a brill backpack in Dayglo yellow and this Dayglo jacket and gloves so car drivers can see her. When she put her stretchy black headwarmer on Dad said she looked like a bee that’d lost her stripes!

So Mum said “OK then Bill my love you can join the Busy Bee Club and clear that ice off the pavement!” Got you Dad! I helped, there was this place outside Mrs Gibson’s house who’s quite old, and someone had spilled all this water, and it froze last night and it was REALLY skiddy.

So Dad had a spade and I had a trowel and we chipped it all off.

So NOI-ZEE though, and sometimes when Dad’s spade hit the pavement it sparked like a sparkler on Guy Fawkes night.

Mrs Gibson saw and brought us out tea and cake. Nice lady!
