DOT'S DIARIES 2010

Friday 1st January

DID look up 'Haggis' on the net and DID wish I hadn't!!

It's a sheep's stomach... yeurrrghhh... filled with a sheep's liver, lungs and heart... YEURRGHH!... all minced up... I'm feeling a bit faint... onions and suet, which is a kind of fat... oh no... oatmeal, like you get in that good-for-you brown bread... all that stuff is mixed up together, then you turn the stomach inside out after washing it and boil it so the “impurities” come out (DEFFO!)... then you put all the STUFF inside the stomach and sew it up and BOIL IT ALL!!

Aaaarrghhh!

Sounds DIS-GUS-TING! Told Uncle Ron about it 'cos he did the Rabbie Burns poem about haggis last night and he said “Yes, it's delicious! But you forgot the neeps and tatties!” ???? but that means mashed parsnip and mashed potatoes which go with it. So does that drink that smells like medicine called whisky.

They must be REALLY TOUGH in Scotland!!
