As the crew continued their adventure in search of the Grimbles - the mischievous little computer creatures who make you mis-type words, even when you're sure you haven't - Dot decided it was about time Mr Mouse told them all where they were going.
"Come on Mr Mouse" she said as they swooped on together along the Super Highway "Who is this special friend then?"
A crafty look crossed the sassy little creature's face. "Ahh" he grinned "Ya gotta wait kid. It'll be worth it - no kiddin'!"
But just as he finished speaking, a strange noise could be heard above the normal swishing and bleeping sounds of the Internet. It reminded Dot of her Dad's wheelbarrow, which he kept forgetting to oil and which made the most horrendous squeaking noises as he pushed it round the garden. In the end her Mum hid it behind next door's hedge till he promised to fix it!
But the strange noise also sounded a bit like a shopping trolley that needed some attention.
It was a shopping trolley! Far off in the distance, they could see the wire-box-on-wheels shape, weaving and glittering under the cyber-light show of the Internet.
But as they drew nearer they could see it didn't look like a very happy trolley. Apart from the squeaking, it was laden to the teeth with what looked like a year's supply of loo rolls... and boxes of porridge oats! Also, it didn't seem to have a clue where it was going - it was zig-zagging from side to side as if it was lost, reminding Dot of the day when the trolley she was pushing round the supermarket somehow went off on its own and crashed into a pyramid of 600 cans of special-offer pineapple chunks!
"He needs help" said Wizzie, kindly as ever. "Come on!"
So once again they floated down. Just as they did so, the trolley did a big swerve off to one side - teetered on two of its wheels - then crashed over with a clatter. All the loo rolls and packets of porridge went everywhere, while the trolley lay there with its wheels spinning and squeaking. Dot and the crew rushed over.
They were amazed to see that the trolley had a face! On its front was a pair of mournful brown eyes under bushy eyebrows, a big round nose with a "handlebar" moustache, and a sad downturned mouth. Just at that moment the mouth was trembling as if the trolley were about to burst into tears.
The three friends were dumbstruck at the strange sight before them. A sad supermarket trolley with a face! Whatever next? But they were even more amazed when a long mournful sigh came from the trolley. Dot was the first to speak. "What... who are you?" she asked, putting her head on one side so she could look straight at the sad trolley's face.
"I'm Sid the Shopper" the trolley said. "But I won't be for much longer if I don't sort this one out!"
