their friend Evie Eden!

Chapter 12: Celebration!

Back into the Net the three friends zoomed! They were of course right on the site of the Eden Project and the giant Biome where they'd left Evie - but Net travel was still the best and quickest.

"I just hope we're not too late!" said Dot, chewing her lip in a worried way as they shot along the fibre-optic highways.

"Don't worry Dot!" said Wizzie. "If the Eden Project is fixed, then Evie must be OK - remember she told us how everything that went wrong affected her first?"

With a whoosh and a neat somersault (we're definitely getting better at these arrivals, thought Dot) the three Internet voyagers came out of the laptop they'd left what seemed like ages ago - but what had in fact been just a few minutes.

All around them the huge Biome was a wonderful sight. The Eden Project was truly saved from the evil schemes of Sykes and the cyber rats, who'd set out to destroy it out of sheer spite. The plants and ferns, bushes and fantastic flowers already looked completely different from the way they'd looked before - like they were getting better after being very ill.

A warm, gentle, perfumed breeze blew through the forest in the dome. It was like being in the heart of the great rain forests on the Amazon in South America, or deep in the beautiful jungles of Cameroon or Malaysia.

Except... in a jungle in Malaysia you probably wouldn't be hearing the da-da-da-da-da-DA-da! sound of a conga blaring out, or hear the popping of champagne corks. Or have to dash out of the way and hide yourself behind a tropical fern as a crowd of very happy people came by dancing by!

The long line of the dance - led by Tim Smit, the head of the Eden Project, wearing a party hat and a huge grin - seemed to snake all the way round the Biome, weaving from path to path through the forest.

It looked just about everyone who worked at Eden was joining in, weaving from side to side, everyone kicking their legs out on the DA! bit of the da-da-da-da-da-DA-da!

Dot could see Mr Mouse's little legs twitching - he just LOVES a dance - but Wizzie did too, "You can't, Mouse!" he hissed, "We're not meant to be here, remember?"

"Aw, shee!" went Mr Mouse. "Looks such fun!" But he stayed hidden away.

At last the tail end of the Conga went off into the distance, and Dot, Wiz and Mr Mouse crept out of their hiding place.

"Well!" said Mr Mouse. "Glad someone's having a good time round here... seems we fixed it, anyway. So much for Mr No-Trousers Sykes!"

"Yes" said Wizzie, padding about and sniffing the rich, warm earth. "But we need to be sure - what about Evie?"

"Diddleypick!"
