|Dot and the Dragon|
|<< PREVIOUS||NEXT >>|
Rhys and Carys stared at the big red dragon and hid behind Dot. They had never been on an internet adventure before. Dot stared at the dragon and was amazed to see he was wearing a scarf around his long neck. He started to cough and little clouds of smoke were coming out of his mouth and nostrils. Dot gulped, now she was face to face with a dragon she was wondering if Mr Mouse had been right.
But then the dragon coughed again and pointed at his throat. “Well I never,” said Wizard, “I think he’s lost his voice.”
The dragon nodded and looked so sad that Dot decided that they had to help him.
“I’ve got it,” said Dot, “Nanny Com always boils the kettle when my throat is sore and makes me breath in the steam with a towel over my head.” She turned to the dragon. “Have you got a kettle,” she said, “or somewhere we can boil water?”
The dragon nodded and then pushed a door open with his nose. He led the way down so many flights of stairs that they were all frightened they would never find their way back.
But just then the dragon opened a door and there in front of them was a huge kitchen. There was a great big table in the middle that seemed to be the size of a football pitch and a fire place with a great big black iron pot hanging over the flames.
They were at the bottom of the castle and there was nothing modern at all. The kitchen was thousands of years old and Dot and Wizard had to get Tarian to boil water over a fire. They let Tarian boil the water because hot water can give children very nasty burns. Tarian lifted the great big pot as if it was a feather.
It seemed to take forever for the water to boil, but when it was finally done the dragon lifted the pot off the stove and put it on the table. They had found a great big sheet and between them all they held the sheet over the dragon’s head while he breathed in the steam.
The sheet fluttered up and down as the dragon took great big breaths and then all of a sudden he coughed and a great big flame shot through the sheet, burning a big hole in it. Dot jumped back and Wizard yelped as the flame almost singed his ears.
Mister Mouse, brave as ever, yelled: “When will ya ever listen, I told you were were gonna get roasted.” He curled in a ball and waited to die!
